CR: Hey are how you doing?
Beelzebub: Very well at the moment.
CR: According to some metal media over here in Costa Rica, Mystic Circle will be playing in San Jose this year? Is this true? Who contact you?
Beelzebub: Yes our booker Javier Cruz will be doing a full Mexican and South America tour and we are looking totally forward to it.
CR: About your entire tour, you guys are pretty much going to be all over Central America, is this the first time you guys pull something like this? Are you going to have time for some side seeing on or continent?
Beelzebub: We do almost all of Central America but not Brazil this time. Hopefully we have time to see something this will be great. We can’t wait to meet the fans over there.
CR: I have to be totally honest with you “The bloody path of God” is the very first Mystic Circle album I have ever heard, and it really blew me away; the guitars, the speed and the groove on every track is making me listen to it over and over. How long did this album took to write and record?
Beelzebub: We wrote and recorded it over three months. Its our seventh full length album and we will be playing three songs from it when we come to Central America. But check out all our albums maybe you will be come a Mystic Circle maniac!!!
CR: I’m a sucker for short atmospheric intros with some creepy guy speaking and then the release of the first song, that first song is of course strong, fast, it really gets you inside the album from the beginning, how important is for you guys to get the listener inside your music as quickly as possible?
Beelzebub: I think its important that every song is very good. Not only two or three songs are very good and the other songs suck. On our albums I think the songs are mostly on the same level and the intro get the people in the right mood.
CR: The vocals on “The bloody path of God” go from black to death metal, the drums are impressive and manage to blend the black/death sound that we ca hear, still we know it has some black metal in it, but it sounds to me that Mystic Circle is getting closer to become a death metal band than to rather embrace a little more its black metal roots. What do you think about this?
Beelzebub: We use every kind of extreme metal. From death to black to trash to
gothic metal. There are no boundaries in our musical influences on extreme metal. But the lyrics are dark and against religion and adoring some stupid institutes like the church.
CR: What was the toughest part about writing this new album, and why did you decided to call it “The bloody path of God”?
Beelzebub: The songs are sometimes very technical from the timings. That was the most difficult thing, to compare the voice to a different beat. We call it the bloody path of god because of the way Christianity through centuries has created a very bloody and full of lies kind of history.
CR: “The bloody path of God” has a sort of thrash metal smell to it, like in the track “Church of Sacrifice” do you think that is almost impossible for a fast metal band to avoid the thrash metal sound influence?
Beelzebub: As is said before we grew up with pretty much every kind of extreme metal music and that’s our influences, why can’t help it.

CR: The atmospheric segment on the song “The Forgotten” really creates a little space to breathe after all the mayhem the album has been creating, do you see these little segments as something important for the listeners or is it more important for the mood that you guys are trying to create?
Beelzebub: Yes but the next album will be more brutal and fast then the 'Bloody path of god'. We try to use more brutal and blow you away parts.
CR: To me the most black metal track on the album is “Unholy Terror”, do you feel the same way or am I totally lost on this one?
Beelzebub: No you are completely right. Its the most traditional black metal song on the album and it shows how the next Mystic Circle album will sound like.
CR: Right after the outro track, there is a cover of Celtic Frost, why this specific song to place as a cover, are you guys big fans of the band and by the way what do you think of their latest album?
Beelzebub: I haven’t heard their last album. I think its a cult song and its in our live shows so we decided to put it as a special track with a good sound on the new album.
CR: Just an idea if you guys come to Costa Rica you should start the gig with the first two tracks of this “The bloody path of God” you know the intro and then destroy everything with The Bloody Path Of God, kick ass intro for an album.
Beelzebub: hahaha maybe but be sure the bloody path of god will be played in our set.
CR: Mystic Circle ha played with bands like Dimmu Borgir, Marduk, Cannibal Corpse, Gorgoroth, Old Man's Child and Immortal, which of this bands has made the biggest impression on you guys?
Beelzebub: To me the coolest live bands are the Misfits and Motörhead which we also played with. The best live death metal band and the coolest guys are Cannibal Corpse and Deicide. Immortal are some of my favorites too and Dissection and Dark Funeral.
CR: Can you please give us a little history on how the band got together?
Beelzebub: It’s too long so check the whole history on www.mystic-circle.de I will say this, the band exist since 1992.
CR: Which album would you say was the one that send you guys from a totally Underground band to a more “well known” act in Europe?
Beelzebub: The first album “Morgenröte” definitely; since then we have played hundreds of concerts so now it’s time to take over the world.
CR: Does Mystic Circle has a strong satanic ideology behind its music or is just a good topic for the lyrics?
Beelzebub: We are interest in the dark side and fantasy of it, we are also against religion. The religious institutions are full of lies and they just want to influence people and transform them into their puppets. But we don’t adore a god like Satan or something like that. We use the word Satan against Christianity.

CR: How involve would you say Mystic Circle is with the German black metal scene; in your opinion what’s the best ever German metal band?
Beelzebub: We don’t like the word “black metal scene” cause the metal scene grows together and every style has its place nowadays and that’s cool. All the metalheads must come together like in the 80’s. We have to be strong, people must open their minds to all metal styles and genres.
CR: Is there any truth in the following statement some fans and critics use when they don’t like a band anymore “sale out”?
Beelzebub: We don’t care because comments like this, we have worked for 14 years now and we as hungry as the first day. Now we have the opportunity to play all over the world and if I may we are band with a pretty big fan base.
CR: What do you think of the following statement “everybody has a price, is just that the price changes from one individual to another, some can be easily bought for money, others will sell their soul for honor, and others will kill for self enlightment”
Beelzebub: You can say yes or no but you really have to be in that situation, then you will know if you will sell your soul or not.
CR: What can your Costarrican fans expect from your live performance?
Beelzebub: Just a brutal, tight live show and of course we want to meat the fans for autographs after the show and talk to them.
CR: Well, thank you very much for your time; I hope I get to se you live on
San Jose, if you have anything else that you will like to add, please do so…
Beelzebub: Thanks, please visit our website www.mystic-circle.de; we can’t wait to get there man. Only a few weeks left.
