This is one of those albums that improves as the minutes go by, there are interesting riffs displayed in almost every song, even when some tracks may sound a bit watered down and not very exceptional, you can still find a couple of songs that will make 1917 a name to remember.

These Argentineans play a very “Latin death metal” let me explain, for some reason all over Latin America death metal bands sound like thrash metal bands and thrash metal bands sound like death metal, off course it could be because of the raw production in many countries but it goes beyond that; Vision is a mix of thrash guitars, death drums and raw black metal vocals in Spanish, some may disagree with the vocals but you can just imagine Alejandro (Guitar, vocals) on a black metal band; anyway the vocals even with all the rawness that they posses are pretty understandable (if you speak Spanish off course). There is also some “progressive” elements on the album, like the nice bass lines layering the tracks with catchy rhythms and interesting tempo changes.

At the beginning of the review I said that the album gets better as the tracks go by, so let me be very specific, “Simbolos Muertos” is were this album takes off and deserves must of the attention and the positive rating, these track is fast, with a nice drum work resembling the unrelentless attack similar to bands like Vader, precise pounding and a great guitar melody helps the track keep it’s power without letting the catchy riffs go undermined.

The previous 4 songs are not bad, they just sound like every other Latin death act, raw, with a couple of ideas but extremely easy to forget.
“Visiones” is an instrumental track, one of the best I have ever heard, is not a ballad or a complicated display of musicianship, is a solid death track, extremely heavy and with a solid structure, it sounds like some lyrics could be added very easily, but its better this way, it lets you appreciate every single riff without any distraction.

The final two tracks aim for a dark metal style rather than a thrash or death atmosphere, both are interesting been “Anidando entre Serpientes” the one with the best bass line in the entire record, powerful chords take center stage when Pansa plays his solo, too bad about the production, because it would have sounded excellent other wise.

This record is good, perhaps the first four tracks may bore you, but the final four ones will have you coming back for more.
