And Brazil does it again, I have come to a point in which my envy for Brazilian bands is turning into a bad envy, you know the type were you thrash awesome bands for the clothes they wear, or because they simply like to discuss world issues; well yeah this guys are just that, I can said mean things about the way they look, or their lyrics but I could never deny the simple fact that this album is one the best thrash albums I’ve heard this year.

Traditional yet modern, that’s the two words that combine for a lethal molotov cocktail of metal; Agressor sounds old school thrash, old school like Dark Angel, in some passages they sound like the early underground metal movement from Brazil that saw Sepultura arise in a legendary album called Schizophrenia (not as dark as that album, but certainly as heavy and catchy but still brutal); they even have the traditional intros “one…two…three…” I have to admit I’m a sucker for those intros; they are so very garage band attitude.

The whole album is catchy, it just takes one listen per song to get hooked on them, they are simple in structure but allow the players to display talent and technicality, the solos are razorblades, face melting riffs and solid drum work, perhaps this could be the only thing that they should have worked on a little more, the drums from time to time should take front page and stump your brain instead of restraining themselves to the back all the time, but again this is probably just a production thing so, lets move on.

I can’t really pin point the best tracks, because this is one of those albums that you are going to keep skipping from one song to the other trying to determine which track is your favorite.

“Victim of Yourself” is thrash pure and simple, thrash metal played excellently and fun, and like all good thrash with something to say, like the song P-36 based and inspired in the sinking of the oil platform with the same name; you see not only good headbanging can be taken out of this album, maybe some history too.

To conclude, this album is good, is fun, is really easy thrash to understand none of that high speed metalcore influences fund here (haven’t you notice that many metalcore bands claim to be thrash?), just get this album, please!
