Eternos kicks off with some thrash riffs, introducing their speed metal blend of amazing guitars and powerful drums; this is a typical Spanish spoken heavy metal band, yes their riffs are a great mix of speed and thrash along side some traditional heavy riffing, but the vocals are just like every other good Spanish based heavy band, Angeles del Infierno, early Avalanch, you get the idea.

The sound is clear and the guitars are great; this album has that special “smell” that reminds you from time to time to bands like Anthrax and Judas Priest, they don’t sound like the bands I just mention but Horcas really transports you to an another era, an era where heavy metal was king.

I have to insist on the fact that the guitars are awesome, they go from heavy to melodic and the solos are inspired and like some dude from a movie I just saw said “they melt your face”; the double bass drum work is exquisite and very heavy adding speed and strength to every song in which they intervene. Yes the vocals are not bad, but they are the ones that don’t let Horcas be a more “unique” band, that because it seems that every single heavy metal singer that speaks Spanish has the same voice and the same accent, and this guys are from Argentina, perhaps some “Che talk” could have made this album a little more authentic; but what the hell the album is still a nice piece of Latin American heavy metal.

The instrumental side of Horcas is great, catchy, inspired and very technical when is needed, maybe the lyrics are a bit of a cliché, but then again pretty much every heavy metal band writes lyrics the same way.

If you are looking for catchy heavy/speed metal with some heavy thrash riffs and a nice drum that will keep you entertain, Eternos is the album for you; off course you have to like bands like Angeles del Infierno, because is you hated that Spanish band then you are probably going to hate Horcas as well. Some songs that deserve some extra attention are: Rompo el Dolor, Mentiroso, Fuego and Ser Uno Mismo, this last one with some cool effects in its intro.
