Long name, apparently it has something to do with a skin transmitted disease, so the name is long, very long and thanks to that the band has managed to create quite a fuss around the underground, they pretty much shattered the theory of a band’s name should be short, strong and catchy.
Paracocci… plays gore, but a very peculiar gore; in “Satyriasis and Nymphomania” you can find a black metal atmosphere covering every single track and under this a series of interesting tempo shifts and a weird flow that indulges the tracks into a morbid perspective rather than in brutality or gore.
The vocals are as you can expect from a gore band, indecipherable, Isaac known to his friends as “Ginecólogo Necrolamedor Clitoral” has a very dark approach, like a shadow of a serial killer by your bed, this contrasting with the metallic pounding provided by the drums gives the record a nice “double dimension” and may inflict a wider brutality on the songs.
Many songs have inclusions of movie segments, and it looks like these guys like a lot the Francis Ford Coppola version of Dracula, because every segment is from that movie, nice but it gets kind of boring after a while.
The best thing about the album is that morbid atmosphere smear all over the tracks sometimes even sounding like a black metal band wrote them for Paracocci… , while the gore formula is refreshed with this, the songs as they progress start to loose aggressiveness and the enthusiasm you felt at the beginning starts to fade.
“Satyriasis and Nymphomania” has his best moments when some groove is allowed to emerge, and when the tempo changes make sense fitting with the dark approach of some of the riffs, but it lacks of continuity on this very interesting factors, and when they go back to the traditional gore formula the album just ends up boring and repetitive, still there are a couple of good moments for these Mexican sick metallers.
