“Heroina del Infierno” is a compilation of songs by this Salvadorian band, ten years of work are placed on this very long album, the sound is terrible, but lets try to extract the best from this effort.

The last thing you want to hear after spending a lot of hours working on something is some smart ass critic (that will be me) thrashing your work, after all if you really worked hard on it at least you should expect a respectful review, it doesn’t matter if it’s good or bad, well here it goes.

The guitars are very well interpreted, those guys know how to play their heavy metal, at times the bad production does take some impact out of this crucial instrument; still the riffs are heavy, chunky and with a couple of classic heavy metal solos placed here and there, definitely the best side of Vertigo. As the album progresses so does the styles Vertigos guitars are displayed, like on the song “Secuestro de Niños” there is some weird “ska” riffs placed on the tempo changes that really transform the entire song right in front of your eyes, luckily they go back to the heavy riffs helping us remember that they are a metal band, at least a hard rock band.

As “Heroina del Infierno” moves forward the sound improves a little, so does the style, going from a classic heavy metal to a hard rock, to a very melodic hard rock. Some lyrics, mainly in the earlier songs are kind of childish; you know the usual “I’m a rebel because I love rock” I hate those kind of songs, but hey there is people that actually feel that way, so lets not pick on them.

This is mainly an album for those interested in Central American metal history, nothing else.
