With an intro that shows the morbid path of this Belgian band “The Purity of Perversion” welcomes us to their brutal death metal. This is their first record and Aborted wants to quickly show us what they made of: basic, simple, original riffs and a sick atmosphere described by all the gore in the production.

Sven de Caluwe brings all the sick and possessed growls that a gore metal oriented band should have, he sounds like someone drowning in blood (I think with this description you can guess the brutality of the record). The guitars are not an amazing piece of work, and they are not going to reinvent the genre, but they still have a certain amount of uniqueness that gives Aborted a very special sound; the drums just like the guitars are the way they are supposed to be done. The whole album is very simple and basic, perhaps too simple sometimes, turning it kind of repetitive at times, something that is well covered by pieces of dialogue placed between tracks, just to lets us know that a new track is coming.

The whole production tried and achieve to keep the sound of the album very underground sort of speak, and they succeeded, because it is dirty and not very clear from time to time, still this record is a very good beginning of the Belgians Aborted, you should check it out.
