If it only wasn’t just one huge song…meaning? This album has 13 tracks on it, but it sure sounds like one gigantic song split into 13 segments.

Apiary is the new Californian band in Metal Blade, mixing hardcore and a couple of heavy metal riffs, all played in a very technical manner, not exactly metalcore, since they are…well very technical.

Even though the songs are well structured and have a good flow, they lack of that special something that makes a song live in your memory for days to come; its like they traded emotions for technical skill, leaving the songs to sound exactly like each other, technical and cold, something like a control rage.

Lost in Focus is an album that only musicians can appreciate, thanks to the precision of every instrument been played. Sometimes the drums catch you by surprise destroying everything on its path, this been a highlight on the entire album.

There is some aggression on every track, but is something like a depressing aggression, because of the many pauses the instruments do in order to come back and launch the same riff at a different speed.

Like I said is hard or maybe impossible to single out some songs as the tracks to listen to, since they all sound the same.
