The polish beast begins a little tired this time around, even though the great and famous speed of Inferno behind the drums. The first song on this record is very Behemoth just with less horse power than normal, thankfully this doesn’t keeps up for long and it doesn’t affect the rest of the album, and when “Modern Iconoclasts” hits you, it makes you remember that we are listening to one of the most extreme metal acts out there, you can also see the degree of growth Nergal had to go through from Thelema.6 until this release, to accomplished the general sound of it.

There is a moment in which many fans could get a little afraid and disorientated because of a new and more polished sound, some may be afraid and think that the band could choose a more melodic path, but that is nothing but a fear at looking at a more compact and better produced band.

Behemoth’s lyrics are the same as we are use to listen, well written, well though, and with a clear message that will forced many priests to exorcise the record and called the pope for advice. The words in every song are very well planned by Nergal a constant student of the dark arts. The only bad thing about the record is that from time to time Nergal’s guitar gets a little monotonous.

This album is hard to understand at the beginning but that’s just because Gojira has such a fresh and unique sound that makes you realize that all metal doesn’t have to sound a certain way, and that new and brilliant ideas can be placed on an extreme music album.
