So…much…trash…. But thank what ever divine force there is that most of this new thrash is good thrash. Everyone enjoys a bit of Slayer and early Metallica, but a lot of people enjoy some fun thrash, whether it’s Anthrax singing about milk or simply laughing at the lyrics to Sweating Bullets by Megadeth.
There is much violence and grotesqueness to be enjoyed from Feed the Beast but you can’t help but feel that you’ve heard it before. Bands like Gama Bomb (who are touring with Bonded by Blood this year) already cover the subjects of zombies and disease epidemics, vomit and kegs are taken my Municipal Waste and Cannabis Corpse have their niche area of the thrash market. Bonded By Blood are taking small bits from the various above subjects and putting it in one album. But rather than sounding like the car boot sale (garage sale to you Yanks) of trash lyrics that you may expect, Bonded add some subtle but noticeable grooves and beats, quite reminiscent of Suicidal Tendencies.
There honestly isn’t a great deal to say about this album. It’s what most people would want from a not so serious thrash album. It’s devoid of deep and provocative thought, heavy on the riffs and the vocals are delightfully playful with a needed savage edge.
