Is this simple, if you love Motörhead then Doomsday Rock ‘N Roll is gonna be an unforgettable album for you.
Similar if not exactly the same riffs a more modern Motörhead would have included in a new production are the key to this very enjoyable record, a young Lemmy vocals are greatly display through the length of every track reaching a level of nostalgia and maybe consider as a tribute to the man that became a symbol not only for metal but also in Rock ‘N Roll history.
Chrome Division has stolen what could have been one of Motörhead’s best albums of the new century; catchy songs, hooks everywhere, some songs with potential to become anthems and an overall fun and heavy rock attitude that shows just how much fun this guys had when recording this album.
Maybe some would say “rip off” not really; it is true that you can confuse this album with a Motörhead production, but the talent is there, perhaps Chrome Division forgot to put some elements that may distinguish them from their legend counterpart; but no matter how you feel about a band playing almost as exactly as another one does (tell that to all those gore bands) you cant deny your self from having a great time listening to this album. The solos are great, fast sharp and heavy, the drums are fun and precise and the vocals…well they are Lemmy’s but in a younger more modern approach.
It will be very hard for Motörhead to beat this record, perhaps it is time for Lemmy to pass the torch to a new generation, or this is simply a tribute album that many Motörhead fans will enjoy greatly.
