Ghoul "Maniaxe" is by far a stand up from the last album "we came for the dead" (2002). This is the Second full length album, and first appearance as a four piece. The spread of death metal thrash a combination at its best, heavy rapid guitars, insane solos, howling vocals, tormenting drums this cd has it all to headbang like mad. Not much is known from this band. Only nicknames exist from this midnight lurking gang. There’s no turning back once you hear this cd.

The message that this band give is straight forward. "Pleasant screams/ forbidden crypts" starts of the first song with an old horror movie theme then giving you the sense of danger, the guitars come in and the head banging start the vocals follow and send a shock to all black metal posers and bands. Track 2, introducing the members of the band and going in more depth with this horror story. Track 3 into the cd and I all ready feel like breaking windows and bashing walls. With the introduction of the new member Dissector shredding the guitar and his hunting vocal, this four piece is sure complete. Track 4 comes in and the ghoul hunter talks about his chilling adventure to the graveyard, and his encounters with the undead. Track 5 "numbskull" is one of my favorites. Using riffs are straight out of 80's street thrash like Megadeth and Anthrax. Boneless track 5 starts it of with a bass solo then going into death metal riffs keeping cd fresh, it’s amazing. "Maniaxe" the sixth track lets you know that they aren’t kidding when it comes to their art. Boiling eyes, drinking blood a nice way of taking care of corpses. The seventh track "mechanized death" spells death metal/thrash all over it with the rapid style. The ghoul hunter spread his revenge sending a robot, but all goes wrong once it enters the graveyard a song you have to hear. Second to last "the end?" it’s a mellow track it is a bit disappointing, but makes you think of the whole mess that you have herd. The last song "what a wonderful world" (cover) has a twist a vision through he eyes of a ghoul. Burning towers to dark rising day and decomposing babies. This Cd just makes you want to hear it allover again.

I’m amazed in how these ghouls pull it of you can tell these monsters had no problem on writing their songs. This is a promising Cd to have in your collection. Ghoul "Maniaxe" is an album that is going to have craving for more.
