I don’t think of myself as a mean spirited guy, or even one of those assholes that hides his rudeness behind the claim of speaking their mind; having said that, just few albums make me feel embarrass for the people that worked on the material.
Let’s quickly try to analyze this demo, because I don’t want to ever hear it again. You can say their attempt at playing metal here goes into the category of technical death with some hardcore aromas that just worsens the incredible mayhem and lack of orientation or goal that these guys had when writing the songs. The vocals are just awful, this is one of those demos that you makes you wonder “how can they had listen to this and come to the conclusion that it was a good idea to let people hear it”.
With influences such as System of a Down and Strapping Young Lad (one of the guys in Kunvuk looks like a Devin Townsend impersonator) among other more “comprehensive” styles of music, you get a chance to see what can really go wrong when you take complicated ideas and place them together without a general idea or the necessary insane talent that the two previous bands have.
The Gone Mekanik Anticipation Demonstration was a torture to listen to, and I have review funeral doom albums so I know what torture sounds like.
