Honestly, I have discovered this band a little late (6 months ago) but that doesn’t prevent me to enjoy it intensely. Novembers Doom is one of those unexpected picks of mine while trying to strive away from the blast beats for a little bit.

They play Doom Metal but not the Stoner kind. They are more into the likes of old Anathema, My Dying Bride and very early Paradise Lost, this meaning a darker, heavier and hopeless brand of Doom.

All I can say is that this album was meant to be a classic of its own kind, there is not a single let down or filler as far as my taste for this kind of metal goes. The problem with most Doom Metal releases is that you can hardly stand the whole release without falling into Morpheus arms by the fifth track, nevertheless, Novembers Doom will keep you awake through the whole listening, and I can assure you that 100%.

Even though The Pale Haunt Departure has all the elements that makes any good metal album to be worth the purchase I still can suggest a few highlights of my listening: Dark World Burden, Autumn Reflection & my favorite Collapse Of The Fallen Throe…holy shit!, don’t ever listen to this on a sunny day going out with your significant other, you guys may end up cutting your wrists. Romantic, isn’t it?
